
There are 5 Rashtriya Military Schools in India. These are fully residential premier institutions , administrated by the Directorate General of Military Training, classified as Category ‘A’ establishment. These are public schools with best of facilities, affiliated to the CBSE board. The fee for these schools is highly subsidised and borne by Ministry of Defence, government of India.
These schools were established in 1930s. Admission to RMS is on the basis of an All India Written Exam, Interview and a medical test.
Recent updates :
- The exam cycle for academic session 2021-22 was delayed by a year because of the pandemic.
- Girls are now eligible to apply to RMS from academic session 2022-23.
- For Class 6 : Boys & Girls between 10 to 12 years of age, as on 31st March 2025. Born between 1st April 2015 to 31st March 2017.
