About the school
There are over 650 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya schools across India, with at least one in almost every district. These are fully residential premier institutions administered by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti under the Ministry of Education.
These schools were established in 1986 under the National Policy on Education with the vision of providing quality education to talented students, especially from rural areas. Navodaya Vidyalayas are English medium schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Admission is based on an All India entrance exam conducted for Class 6 and limited seats for higher classes.
Navodaya Vidyalayas have excelled in delivering high academic standards along with all-round development. Students receive free education including boarding, lodging, uniforms, and books. Many alumni have gone on to become successful professionals in fields like civil services, engineering, medicine, defense, and business, contributing both in India and globally.
